I am Lydia, my husband is Tom, my eldest, Arthur, is 6, Eirlys is 4 and Bertie is 1!
We are currently taking a year off work to travel around the world! We will head to parts of France, the UK, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, The USA, Mexico, Cuba, The Bahamas and Canada. This is something we had been talking about doing for a while and we figured now was a great time to take the kids. We will be doing some home schooling (or world schooling if we want to sound cooler) but mostly spending time exploring together.
I am a teacher and I also paint murals (Dreams in Colour Murals). Recently, we lived and worked in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. We lived here for four years and lived in Dubai for two years before that. Expat life makes up a big part of this blog. I grew up in Jeddah, also in Saudi, and my parents have been expats for as long as I can remember. Part of this blog is hopefully showing all the positive sides of living abroad as well as some of the difficulties it can bring.
One reason for living abroad is to make travel more accessible and affordable for us as a family. Among our travels over the past few years have been: a road trip from Saudi, through the UAE, to Oman and back: a week racing around Manila exploring the Filipino capital:our last trip as a family of four relaxing in Goa, India: a campervan trip around parts of Europe. Traveling with small children is both tricky and amazing!
